History

For nearly 250 years the people of High Bridge have called Natural Bridge, Virginia home as they have sought to worship God and serve others in the name of Christ.  We are excited about our future together as we continue gathering for worship, fellowship, and service to the community and world!

We are proud of our history and give thanks for God’s faithfulness in years past. Multiple generations have come to be baptized and eat at the Lord’s Table.  High Bridge has witnessed the American Revolution, thousands move west on the Great Road just down the hill, the Civil War, recessions and the Great Depression, yet through the sustenance of the Holy Spirit we remain a community that seeks to live and serve in God’s Kingdom.

God’s past faithfulness encourages us in our present ministry and makes us excited about our future walk of faith.  We do not remain in the past, but our witness to God’s faithfulness emboldens us to serve Christ now and forevermore.

We are an active and vibrant church.  While we are a multi-generational church, most of our worshipping community is comprised of young families. We are passionate about nourishing the faith of our children.

Since multiple generations have worshipped at our church we understand you may have questions concerning your ancestors. While we respect your research, our resources are devoted to our current ministry. We hope in the coming years to offer some of our records online, but for now you are welcome to make genealogical discoveries using our cemetery tab.

Come in response to the grace of Jesus and worship.  Come and be nourished and equipped for ministry.  Come and fellowship with friends.  You are always welcome to enter our doors!
